Two things a User-Agent won't tell you
A User-Agent is a costume; a TLS fingerprint is a body. And the prose the machines write is quietly converging on a single voice. The Mirror measures both.
Who is wearing a costume
These TLS fingerprints (JA4) each appeared under more than one declared identity. A shared fingerprint can mean a spoofed User-Agent, or two clients built on the same library — either way it is a fact the User-Agent alone would have hidden.

Infrastructure changes: when a crawler's body changes
A User-Agent is a costume an operator can change at will; a JA4 is the shape of the TLS stack that actually made the connection. When an established client's JA4 changes, something changed in its infrastructure — a new deployment, a proxy swap, a library upgrade — usually before anyone announces it. Each row here is one such silent shift.

The Slop Index
